The Star II is a dynamic mattress replacement system combining two therapies dynamic and continuous low pressure. Both therapies provide pressure redistribution promoting both immersion and envelopment of the patient into the surface minimising high peak pressures under vulnerable areas of the patients skin. The system has a permanently inflated subcell to aid patient safety and comfort and provides protection against bottoming out.
The Star II can accommodate patients assessed to be up to very high risk of developing pressure injuries or have existing tissue damage up to category IV with a patient weight limit of up to 250kg.
The system combines two therapy modes to suit both patient and clinical preference: Alternating Therapy and Continuous Low Pressure therapy.
Both therapies provide pressure redistribution promoting immersion and envelopment of the patient into the surface and optimise patient comfort.
Intelligent Pressure Management (IPM) Technology monitors, detects and automatically responds to changes in patient weight, position and posture minimising high peak pressures under vulnerable areas of the patient’s skin. IPM technology saves power during cycling times - reducing stock and maintenance costs.
The Star II System is designed to provide optimal support and includes a permanently inflated subcell, which provides protection against bottoming out. In the event of a powercut or a damaged cell, the base layer remains inflated to maintain patient support.
Premium high-performance top cover. Antimicrobial, waterproof, multi-stretch cover and base sheet are easy to clean, feature welded seams and handles, cable management conduits and 360° zip for easy removal of top cover.
‘Whisper Quiet’ pump operation to minimise patient disturbance.
An additional three pump comfort settings allow for further adjustments to reach higher levels of comfort.
The system is designed for ease of use with easy setup, minimising potential user error and time required for training.
Both the mattress and the pump are modular in design, so components can be easily replaced at low cost with minimum downtime. This helps increase the product lifespan and reduces environmental impact.
